Drinking Plenty of Water is Important for Health

Jun 20, 2021

There is nothing more refreshing than to drink a glass of water. Most of us know that drinking water is beneficial for our health, but I find many do not drink enough. A glass of fresh water is more satisfying than drinking soft drinks or coffee.

Not drinking enough water damages our cells and this has an impact on our health.

A great daily routine

  • As soon as you get up each morning, pour yourself a tall glass of water to start the day. The goal is to drink at least eight glasses of water each day
  • Drink a glass of water before every meal to get one glass closer to your goal and to help keep you from overeating
  • Throughout the day, take breaks specifically to rehydrate your body. Drinking enough water is essential to your productivity. The body’s level of energy is directly related to the amount of water you drink

Drinking water prevents us becoming lethargic and slow. The more water we drink, the better the body feels, enabling us to be more efficient at my work. When the body is healthy, we can focus and give our best performance.

Benefits of drinking enough water

Making time to drink water is easier when one understands the benefits of water and when one understands the harmful effects of dehydration on the body.

From brain to my skin, every part of our body needs water. The more water we drink, the better we feel. The skin is radiant and strong when we drink the amount of water the body needs each day.

How to get enough water

When going to a café or restaurant, it is good practice to always order water because not only is water better than caffeinated beverages, but it could also save money.

Today I choose to drink at least eight glasses of water. I embrace my goal with a positive attitude because drinking enough water is easy and beneficial.

Fear around drinking enough water

There are people who are afraid of drinking plenty of water as they feel they have to go to the toilet too often. What happens though, is when the body adjusts to the increased quantities, it absorbs more of the fluid for healthy functioning of the organs and the bladder only eliminates the excess which will contain more waste materials thanks to the increased intake of water clearing this waste. This can only have a beneficial impact on our health.

Self-Reflection Questions:

1.   How can I improve my daily water intake even when I'm away from home?

2.   When can I take a water break today?

3.   How does my body benefit from water?
